How to Change the Recovery Code

Welcome to the recovery code change instructions page. The videos below will show you how to change the recovery code (also called a master reset code) on your safe. The locks featured below constitute the safes Liberty is currently producing. If you have a different lock, please email our customer service department at customerservice@libertysafe.com or call 1-800-247-5625.

Before You Begin

To complete this process, you will need to get your recovery code from Liberty Safe. To do so, visit https://www.libertysafe.com/pages/combination-key-request and fill out the form.

Once you have your code, you will be able to follow the instructions in the videos below.

Mechanical Locks

If you have a mechanical lock, there is no recovery combination. Liberty Safe keeps a record of combinations that our safes ship with. In order to change your combination, you will need to hire a locksmith to change your combination. You may also opt for Liberty Safe to remove your code from our records by visiting https://www.libertysafe.com/pages/combination-removal.

I love it! Fits nicely and the lights are bright and responsive. Turns on when needed and shuts off after 15 seconds. Perfect for the safe. I’m going to buy another one so I have both red and blue.

Solid Product

The product itself is perfect. The quality of the delivered product and delivery was perfect. The only issue I had was with the long amount of time to get the product actually delivered. This was a web order from the Liberty Safe site. It took about three months to actually get it delivered. Some part of that was the result of a hurricane. But on delivery day, the installer went above and beyond to assist with the delivery, and even helped to install some accessories that I had ordered separately. Fortunately, I had a little extra time to play with. Ultimately, everything ended up being perfect. I love the product!

It does what you would expect

As long as the Lag Bolts are put all the way in with something like a hammer-drill - those lag bolts are not going to go anywhere.

Handgun ( with optics) hangers

The hangers arrived very promptly after the order was placed. They are suitable for the semiautomatic pistols, but will not accommodate the Buck Mark target pistol; insufficient clearance with a red dot. Overall, I’m satisfied with the purchase.

Humidity is kept in check

I know humidity is not good for things like firearms, ammunition, coins and more - being those were just a few of the items I store in my safe, having this Dry Rod Dehumidifier is a perfect solution.
I have never experienced Humidity based issues with items stored in my safe - I’m very happy with the dehumidifier.
